  • Dr. Jennifer Cabral

    DVM

    Dr. Cabral was born and raised in Bermuda. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tampa and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuft's Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cabral enjoys practicing small animal medicine, surgery and especially enjoys working with exotic pets including birds, reptiles and small mammals. She also participates in wildlife rescue, wildlife education and rehabilitation. In her spare time, Dr. Cabral enjoys outdoor activities and aquatic recreation. She also enjoys spending time with her fianc�, friends and her spoiled cat named Mango.

  • Dr. Ann Fitzsimmons

    DVM

    Dr. Fitzsimmons is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She received her undergraduate degree from Loyola College and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University. Dr. Fitzsimmons moved to St. Mary's County in 1993 and joined VCA St. Mary's Animal Hospital. Dr. Fitzsimmons has a special interest in the care of small mammals. She also has a special interest in feline medicine and geriatric medicine. Dr. Fitzsimmons enjoys outdoor activities in her spare time including camping and kayaking with her family and friends. She also enjoys sewing, collecting carousel horses, and watching her daughter participate in many Special Olympics sports.

  • Dr.Leslie Meadows

    DVM

    Dr. Meadows was born and raised in Vienna, Virginia. She received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Meadows joined VCA St. Mary's Animal Hospital in 2007. Dr. Meadows has a special interest in both feline and canine Internal Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Meadows enjoys advanced training and education in ultrasonography. During spare time, Dr. Meadows enjoys spending time with her pets, a timid Border Collie named Chicken, a sassy cat named Noodle and a disobedient but very cute Beagle named Bean. She is also a sports fan and is a supporter of the Washington Redskins and enjoys spending time with her husband Scott and daughter Lillian.

  • Dr. Kirk Forrest

    DVM

    Dr. Forrest is native of Ohio and received both his undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University. He moved to St. Mary's County in 1987 providing compassionate and friendly care for our community, establishing St. Mary's Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Forrest continues to practice preventive wellness medicine and surgery for our community, in addition to serving as our Hospital Medical Director insuring that our hospital provides state of the art medical care for all patients. Dr. Forrest has a special interest in exotic patient care including birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits and other small mammals. He especially enjoys surgery and has obtained extensive professional training in small animal orthopedic, laser and laparoscopic surgery. During Dr. Forrest's spare time, he enjoys skiing, fishing, boating, and wine collecting. He also enjoys baseball and has provided ten years of service coaching our community Little League teams. Dr. Forrest also enjoys spending time with his family and pets; Ginger and Bentley (Springer Spaniels) and two sassy cats Meeko and Chloe.

  • Molly Bechtold

    Dr. Molly Bechtold was awarded her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Bechtold participated in an Equine Medicine and Surgery Internship in San Diego, California. Dr. Bechtold then moved to Guam where she began practicing small animal medicine and surgery. While in Guam, Dr. Bechtold also participated in outreach programs providing community education and medical assistance for the large homeless population of cats and dogs in Guam. Following Dr. Bechtold's tenure in Guam, she returned to the United States and completed a one year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Dogs and Cats Veterinary Referral in Bowie, MD. Following her second internship, Dr. Bechtold remained at DCVR for an additional 4 years working with Dr. Kathy Arrington in the Internal Medicine department where she received extensive training in Internal Medicine and abdominal ultrasonography. Dr. Bechtold enjoys all aspects of Internal Medicine with a special interest in ultrasonography and advanced diagnostic imaging. During her spare time time, Dr. Bechtold enjoys spending time with her family and "perfect dog" Shelby.
